CHILD PROTECTION POLICY

At the VOICE, the very nature of our work requires the highest standards for the protection and caring of the children in the families and communities where we operate in.

Formulated by the U.N. Convention on the principles of the children’s rights, the VOICE Area Federation’s work is inspired to promote children’s holistic development that aims to strengthen family and community systems that ensures the child’s protection and well-being. Consistent with its mission, VOICE Area Federation strives to create positive environments in which children grow up amidst respect, home and justice.

Recognizing the inherent worth of each child, VOICE Area Federation accepts its responsibilities to protect children from harm, to promote children’s right, and to insure children’s healthy growth. Since VOICE Area Federation works in situations that present serious physical, emotional, and social risks to children’s well-being and that involve unequal power relations, it is vital to define clearly the VOICE’s commitments to child protection. Through policy, VOICE defines its Code of Conduct to which all VOICE staff and volunteer workers (board members, Volunteers, interns, contractors, and external resource persons) must adhere.

GOVERNANCE POLICY

The successful establishment of the organization’s vision requires effective leadership which should be generated by the Board of Directors. In order to do so, primarily the Board of Directors must have a comprehensive vision of their own job descriptions. Policy governance is an approach which would lead to governance that emphasizes values, vision, and strategy, and empowers the Board of Directors and the Chief Executive Officer.
